My stake is putting on a play, which I am going to sing and act in. The play is called First Light, written principally by Brett Raymond, a member of the stake. This will be the first time it has been performed, and I think it will be a very fun experience. I don't know what part I will play yet, but I expect to find out soon. My wife is going to help with behind-the-scenes stuff like props and sets, and I have an uncle who is interested in singing and acting in it. I'll let you know how it goes!

In other news, I've finsihed reading The DaVinci Code last night. I couldn't put it down! I read it in just two evenings. It was a rivoting, thrilling storyline full of puzzles that were fun to solve. Three things I didn't like about it, though:
  1. It was kind of dirty. Parts of it, at least. Cussing, blood, and sex. None of which were very glamorous.
  2. It portrayed the Catholic church in an unfairly dark light. I'm not catholic, but I sure got offended by the first Sherlock Holmes story, which portrayed the Mormons as a secret conspiracy with hired assassins. I could understand why a Catholic might feel the same way about this book.
  3. Much of the philosophy around the book centered around how Jesus Christ is not divine, and that pagan goddess worship is the real truth. I mean, if I wanted to hear that, I'd just take a social science class at the university.
It was an enjoyable read, though. Certainly good movie material. (They are making a movie about it, by the way. As we speak.)

Oh no, you have found out! I will have to place a phone call to The Brethren to make sure you are silenced.
